The mail in the bottle connecting Gaza with FdR sends us these messages from journalist Nael Ghaboun, who speaks for the entire population of the Strip. Our updates, only possible when communications permit, continue.

We transcribe Nael's answers literally, when FdR asked him for an update on the situation:

Nael was also able to send us some pictures he took in the Deir-el Balah refugee camp and at the hospital in the same location in the centre of the Strip.

From Gaza, trough Nael Ghaboun, we have reports of dead and wounded civilians at the entrance to Al Shifa hospital, in the centre of Gaza City and the main one in the Strip. This happened as ambulances were preparing to evacuate some seriously injured people to the Rafah crossing, from where they would later be taken to Egypt. FdR received a video of the scene which, however, we decided not to show in view of its content. According to Palestinian sources, these casualties were caused by an Israeli attack.

We also received video footage showing civilian casualties along the coastal road leading from Gaza City to the south of the Strip. The convoy in which they were travelling this morning to find refuge in the south of the Strip was reportedly hit by Israeli gunfire.

The first news is also reported in the Israeli media (Haaretz). We cannot independently confirm the exact dynamics of these events at the moment. Updates follow.

The death toll from the explosion outside the Al Shifa hospital is estimated at 13, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health.

Thousands of people sought refuge around the hospital.

The Israeli army confirmed that it had hit an ambulance, without however indicating where, explaining that it was allegedly used by Hamas conbattents.

As for the civilians who died on the coastal road on their way south, there is still no independent confirmation of what happened.

In relation to the civilians killed on the coastal road from Gaza City to the south of the Strip, Israel claims that they were victims of crossfire with Hamas fighters, the latter claims, on the other hand, that they were killed by Israeli soldiers.
