Human Rights? Make us laugh!

That the fate of the (Christian) Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh to the EU cares zero has been clear since at least 18 July 2022. On that day, a smiling Ursula von der Leyen posed next to the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, immediately after signing the agreement to double gas imports to the EU. What about human rights? Ha, ha!
Russia's invasion of Ukraine led to a series of disruptions in the EU fossil energy market. The agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan, for a doubling of gas supplies, is a demonstration of how much the supposed foundations of values, to which Europe never tires of referring and calling us back since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, count for nothing.
The 'Blitzkrieg' conducted by Baku against the separatist Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh within 24 hours resulted in the deaths of an unknown number of people. Thousands of civilians were forced to flee. Ethnic cleansing?
The truce reached seems very fragile.
The European energy ties (for others strategic: first Turkey, second Israel in a peculiar anti-Iran function) with Azerbaijan are too important for anyone to speak of violations of international and humanitarian law in reference to the recent Baku army offensive.
If, on the other hand, you are at least interested in humanitarian law, you could start by no longer filling up your car at Socar and asking where the fuel from other petrol stations comes from.
See how this story ends.
