Happening in Gaza

In the Gaza Strip, there are massive and dramatic movements of the civilian population from Rafah, the southern town on the border with Egypt, towards the centre. New tent camps have taken shape in Deir al Balah and Zawaida. These people had fled their homes in the north and are now forced to flee again after the announced ground offensive of the Israeli army against Rafah. The audio-correspondence of Nael Saeed Ghaboun.

Those who follow Faccia da Reporter and have read my new book, GAZA. DISPACCI DAL DIMENTICATOIO (GAZA. DISPACES FROM THE FORGOTTEN), published by Redea, are familiar with Nael Saeed Ghaboun and his story.

From where he is today, Nael sends us this audio correspondence: he confronts us with the reflections of a young man who cannot believe that this is really happening.

The photographs are by Gaza-based Palestinian photographer Osama Kahlout (courtesy).
